SPRINGFIELD — Miguel Fonseca-Colon sat quietly in jail for five years after being arrested and charged with the murder of an infant. He sat quietly in court for two weeks as his trial played out.
A jury in Hampden Superior Court took less than four hours to acquit him.
“It was a quick verdict and rightly so,” defense attorney David Hoose said during an interview following the panel’s decision on Friday morning. “It’s just outrageous that he spent five years in jail for standing in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
