Woman sues Springfield police officer in federal court, says officer ‘attacked her’ and ruined career plans

SPRINGFIELD — A city woman who argues she was attacked by a police officer while simply trying to help her nephews escape a drunken assault by their mother has sued the Springfield Police Department in U.S. District Court.
